Esmé Bergh, Violinist
Wedding and event violinist, South Africa and Vancouver, Canada.
I play weddings and events across Johannesburg, Pretoria and Greater Vancouver, from a book of more than 3,000 songs, and the estimate on this site gives you a figure for your venue before you give me any contact details.
Music with a personal touch
Whether you are planning a formal or semi-formal wedding, a private function or a corporate event, I play music with a personal touch. My repertoire spans classics, golden oldies and French and Italian favourites, so the ambience is right from the first note to the last.
Music is my passion and my goal is a simple one: to make your occasion unforgettable. I bring precision, high-quality equipment and years of playing to every event, whatever its size.
With more than 3,000 songs in my book, finding the right piece, or asking for your own favourites, is effortless for couples and planners alike.

What I play for
Weddings
Ceremony, canapés or the whole day. Beautiful live violin music for your special moments. I can also play your first dance and arrange a professional DJ for your reception celebrations. Choose up to three special songs for me to learn, at no charge.
Restaurants and Boutique Hotels
Regular days or evenings at a fixed rate. Special bookings available for Mother's Day, Father's Day and other special occasions.
Private Functions
Birthdays, anniversaries and corporate evenings, at your home, a venue or an outdoor setting. Live violin changes the feel of a room in a way a playlist cannot.
Funerals and Church
Arranged at short notice when needed. Hymns, classical pieces and meaningful songs, played with care and sensitivity. I am also a supplier to AVBOB Funeral Services.
Retirement Villages
Afternoon programmes built around the music your residents grew up with, from golden oldies to favourite hymns. Also perfect for birthday celebrations and special occasions with their family and friends.

Solo to quartet
Solo
Violin alone, the most requested and flexible option, and a great choice when keeping costs to a minimum while still enjoying the romantic sounds of live violin.
Duo
Violin with a second instrument, for a fuller ceremony sound.
Trio
Three players, for larger rooms and formal receptions.
Quartet
A full string sound for a ceremony or a corporate evening.
Duo, trio and quartet bookings are available in South Africa. In Canada I play solo while I build a circle of local players.
More than 3,000 songs
Three thousand songs is a big claim, so my book is going online, every title searchable by name, with a link on each one so you can hear the arrangement before you ask for it. Requests from the book are free and unlimited.

In their words
“Thank you so much for everything. It was wonderful having you there. It added a touch of class and uniqueness.”
“Thank you so much to Esmé, who made our day extra special. She was absolutely fantastic to work with. Thank you Esmé.”
“We were absolutely thrilled with your performance at our wedding. From start to finish, you were outstanding and exceeded all of our expectations. Before the ceremony, your music created a beautiful, welcoming atmosphere for our guests and set the perfect tone for the day. So many of our guests commented on how stunning the music was and how much it added to the overall experience.”
“I hope you're doing well. John and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for making our special day truly magical. You amazed both us and our guests with your incredible talent. From my aisle song, Halo by Beyonce, to our exit song, The Next Episode by Snoop Dogg, your artistry was simply unmatched. Every note was perfect, and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful soundtrack to our wedding. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
